The stunning front facade of the Ruffatti organ at Church of the Epiphany. 3-manuals, 61-ranks, twin consoles.

The 2019 Miami International Organ Competition sponsored by Fratelli Ruffatti was once again a big success.  Contestants from all over the world submitted their audition recordings, and 3 finalists were selected to travel to Miami and compete.

The event is held at Church of the Epiphany which is located just a few blocks south of the University of Miami campus.
The organ there is a magnificent Fratelli Ruffatti pipe organ with 61-ranks of pipes and twin 3-manual consoles.

The performances in this year’s 9th MIOC were superb.  All three finalists played extremely well, both technically and musically.
Ilaria Centorrino (the first ever finalist from Italy) finished in third place, Joseph Russell (USA) finished in second place and also won the audience prize, and this year’s winner was Tyler Boehmer (Canada).
Watch for these names in the future as all of these young musicians should have excellent musical careers, much like many of the finalists before them.
