South Koreans gave a huge welcome to Pope Francis this month when he became the first pontiff since 1989 to visit their nation. We were honored that a Rodgers organ was selected for use during a beatification Mass he led for South Korea’s first Catholic martyrs.
The Pope’s five-day visit also included a Mass For Peace And Reconciliation at Seoul’s Myeong-dong Cathedral, a symbolic and historic place for Catholics. Francis reminded Korean Catholics of their duty to forgive one another and trust God’s grace to make it possible despite long decades of division on the Korean peninsula.
