Many of you have been asking, “How will the Crystal Cathedral be made into a Catholic church”? Well the Diocese of Orange has just released the exciting plans. The changes to the entire campus, as well as the Cathedral building itself are dramatic, and the results will be glorious.
The map pictured above contains links to photos, text and video presentations that touch on 2 dozen elements in and around the Cathedral building. Of particular interest is the new configuration of the Hazel Wright Organ, the fourth largest pipe organ in the world. Designed by Virgil Fox and constructed by Fratelli Ruffatti, the organ was originally dedicated in 1982. Completion of this enormous transformation is scheduled for 2016.
